hakujinjoe | Weekend update (no pictures yet but possibly some later in the week) (Reply)

The weekend was mostly spent at home though technically I had a lot I could have been doing. I'm not really upset about it, it was a good weekend, though i blew off pretty much all of my plans.

Friday night I had planned to go to gothic bar heaven, this event is kind of hit or miss but I really like one of the DJs there and one of the floor hostesses always specifically invites me so I feel like I should go. I made reservations for it via the floor hostess and tried to take a nap before going. That was a mistake as I woke up at 1:30am, which means all the trains had stopped and I missed the event. On the up side, i got about 13 hours of sleep.

Saturday was similar. I spent the morning playing Street Fighter 4 with Minh, Wayne D. and Josh H.. It was a fun morning as I haven't talked to the latter 2 in 3 or 4 years at least. That pretty much took up the whole morning for me though.

Saturday afternoon involved me playing a lot of Bully and working on my mask for a little bit. I worked on it but when I was walking through my living room this morning I realized that the work I did on it is kind of lopsided so the whole section is going to have to be reworked again. Ah well, so go the perils of sculpture.

Saturday evening was Midnight Mess. I didn't end up going to that either because Mihoko came over around 9pm and didn't want to go. Instead we watched the extended version of Planet Terror. I originally saw Planet Terror in the theaters with Death Proof and I want to point out that usually, when there is an extended version of a movie, I can pick out the extended parts. No dice in this one. It seemed almost exactly as I remember it.

Sunday was the only day I actually went out to an event. Though before that, in the afternoon, I made some apple spice muffins and lazed about for a while.

The event was from 6pm and I arrived at around 7pm. It ended up being another day where I did makeup really quickly and without a real design. Still it came out OK though. The event itself was OK though the DJs were uncharacteristically bad. Usually I am not a huge fan of the DJs but whatever was going on this time made for a generally bad night for music. There were a lot of people that I knew there though so the event turned out to be really fun in the end. There are pictures, I just don't have any, I'll get them via Mixi later on today or tomorrow.
